In the modern industrial world, it’s no secret that improvements in productivity and quality output, can be realised with the implementation of targeted automation. Automate modules deliver against that expectation.

Remote Data Collection (RDC)

Remote data collection or RDC, facilitates the recording of actual time spent on each task by all production staff, ensuring accurate costs and produced quantities, where applicable, are collected on each production job.

RDC is a browser-based application with a clear and simple interface, for staff to identify themselves and the task that they are working on. Once identified, RDC will automatically record the time spent on the task within the Optimus Job.

Connect

Connect facilitates the automated feedback from press and post-press resources regardless of equipment age. Connect is provided with Connect Hardware Units and Software to allow the automated recording of good and bad quantities produced by a specific resource.

The Connect Hardware Unit is physically connected to the resource and collects data using a pulse or sensor. The resource operator simply specifies the job number and the task being performed; Connect will then automatically start recording time and count against the job, the task, or a non-productive activity.

An electronic job ticket is available displaying all key information about the job and the operator is also able to issue materials to the job as well as viewing or inputting job comments.

Accounts Link

The importance of providing an Accounts Link that is secure and easy to use, with the benefit of seamlessly integrating to Core ensures there is no re-keying, thereby increasing accuracy and data integrity.

The unique open architecture within the MIS has been designed to maximise integration opportunities as we understand that Accounting Systems are a personal choice which must be accommodated.

Customers, suppliers and nominal/general ledger codes are mapped between Core and the accounting system to ensure transactions raised in Core are posted to the correct sales, purchase and nominal/general ledgers.

Depending on the chosen Accounting System you can also receive credit status information which can warn the Optimus user if the customer has exceeded credit terms prior to a job being accepted.

This is calculated from the current debtor status and credit limit set within the Accounting System, together with value of jobs and sales orders, value of work in progress and the current job value from within Core.

Web services and Gateways

Modern day software environments regularly require connectivity and integration with other 3rd party software products to deliver a complete automated working solution.

To meet that demand Optimus have developed Web services which deliberately sits between the dash MIS environment and the other nominated 3rd party software package. The benefit of this approach is that the whole of the MIS API does not have to be exposed to send and receive packets of data. This enables very task specific calls to be passed between systems facilitating a much quicker development cycle which can either be delivered by: Optimus, the Optimus customer directly, or indeed another 3rd party who have the relevant skill set.

Because we have module specific endpoints (which could be defined as the touch points into the required module/data sources) within Web services, for different pieces of functionality e.g.: Workflow, CRM, e-commerce, or multiple bespoke software applications, we are able to connect 3rd party pieces of software with the use of Web services and Gateways.

Gateways provide the precise bridge between your MIS and a specific 3rd party piece of software, so as your dash MIS evolves, additional gateways can be added as required to provide more automation.

Exporter 2

This allows for the exporting of job data to 3rd party systems where a 3rd party system needs job data to action or act on.

This module typically works in conjunction with Web services to create a bidirectional environment.

Spreadsheet Importer

Designed to save significant time by removing the need to rekey information when creating multi line-item projects straight into the dash enquiry and quote manager module.  In the same amount of time to create one enquiry line, hundreds of lines can be imported in seconds at the click of a button, this can then be turned directly into a full production job. A typical example would be a retail POS campaign. This allows you to avoid repetitive tasks and provide a faster turnaround.

To enable this to happen, a csv spreadsheet is tailored to your dash enquiry templates and products; this facilitates a simple import routine drastically reducing the potential for error handling.

Imposition

Imp imposition engine provided by InSoft Automation, deliver handsfree, dynamic imposition and estimation tools catering for: Commercial Packaging, Labels, and Wide Format sectors.

Chosen by Optimus, as one of the most progressive and dedicated global software vendors who understand the importance of cohesive MIS integration and embrace a similar philosophy to Optimus; that philosophy being one system for all, no matter your sector or process to enhance your bottom line.

dash RDC

dash RDC allows production staff the ability to group tasks from multiple works orders on a single resource and create one time sheet. This is then split back proportionally to all works orders once that timesheet is completed, to ensure accurate real time cost analysis is provided.

This module has evolved from the original Remote Data Collection software, driven by the increasing need of customers to maximise capacity on a resource and minimise material wastage.
