Visitors to the Optimus stand at the forthcoming MIS show in Coventry, 14th - 16th November, will be able to see several important additions to its MIS line up, already the most extensive in the industry.
New products include the recently introduced Optimus 2020 QuickSmart, which represents a huge step forward in MIS technology and features. Optimus 2020 QuickSmart (QS) builds on the 24 years of MIS experience gained by Optimus since it launched the industry’s first MIS modules in 1982, and incorporates several major changes. These include improved auditing and work-in-progress capabilities, greater support for fast turnaround jobs and for group functionality. The easy capture of unplanned costs and extras is also an integral part of a new improved Optimus QS solution.
Optimus will be demonstrating a major new estimating interface called Price List Estimating (PLE), which has been specifically developed to cater for the speed, changes and demands of a modern printing environment. The new interface enables the fast creation of estimates and jobs for any type of product, while at the same time providing production route choices. PLE, in combination with Optimus QS, will facilitate integration with a host of equipment from other suppliers.
Other new products on the stand at the MIS show will include Optimus Analysis, a unique method of interrogating the data in Optimus 2020 to provide valuable information in an innovative interactive style that can be used to question strategies and grow the business. In addition to its core product offering of JDF connectivity with multiple pre-press, press and post-press vendors, Optimus will also show the new Optimus Connect facility, which is a method of obtaining on-going production data from equipment on the shop floor without using JDF or JMF technology.
Optimus has recently formed a new partnership with ROI Distribution and sales director Steve Richardson believes this adds an exciting new dimension to the Optimus portfolio. “ROI has a proven track record in supplying variable data web-to-print solutions to a host of industry leading digital equipment vendors such as Xerox, Hewlett Packard and Canon,” says Mr Richardson. “This combination of Optimus MIS and ROI product solutions will deliver a level of integration that the digital print sector has been demanding for some time.”
